What colours are available...
Roos Garage Doors supply the following -

  • MERANTI Wooden Doors: Mahogany, Teak, Golden Brown, Meranti Red

Can I paint my door...
MERANTI Wooden Doors: Doors are coloured with SMI Silk wood Oil. After installation Roos Garage Doors recommends that doors are treated after 3 month, 6 months and then every year. Roos Garage Doors DO NOT recommend Meranti Wood Doors to be painted.

Roll-up: All doors are factory painted. Out of warranty, doors can be painted using high quality exterior latex paint.

 

What is Tension and Torsion systems...
Depending on your application and door needs, Meranti standard sectional single doors are fitted with tension springs. Tension springs are fixed to a cable and pulley system on each side of the horizontal tracks/channels.

All Double and Caravan doors (including Single) are fitted with torsion spring systems. A torsion bar is fixed to wall brackets and two torsion springs are mounted on each side of the centre bearing. It is possible to use the torsion system for single doors as well, but this will increase the cost...

What if I need a non-standard door...
Roos Garage Doors will gladly accommodate your request.

 

Special Door Orders:
WIDTH

  • Door Opening up to 2440w, +25% Price Increase
  • Door Opening up to 2640w, +25% Price Increase and Fillers (@R120/Filler)
  • Door Opening up to 2999w, +75%
  • Door Opening 3000w up to 4880, Double Door price

***Doors can NOT be made bigger than 4950. The widest we can accommodate is 5080, this includes Fillers

HEIGHT
We will add R60 for every 70mm higher than standard sizes Up to 2300h, we can still use standard hardware (Channels) Anything higher than 2300h - quote will include Caravan Door hardware and Caravan Door price.
The highest we can accommodate is 2700h

TURN ANGLE
We need a minimum of 450mm turn angle (head room) without a motor, but with Manual Flab Back Hinges (low headroom brackets) we can accommodate a minimum of 300mm with a motor and Automatic Flab Back Hinges (low headroom brackets) we need at least 200mm

Is everything included in the installation price...
Our installation prices include the product as well as all installation parts needed for the installation.

Quick Summary: door panels, channels, springs, brackets, hinges, screws, wall brackets, pine jams etc.

Anything not standard will be quoted beforehand.

MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS

Is it necessary for maintenance on my door...
While in the guarantee period, Roos Garage Doors recommend making use of our guarantee service - you ARE entitled to it.

 

Out of guarantee?
We can still maintain your doors for a minimal fee. Contact our office for more information.

 

General Maintenance...

Meranti Wooden Doors : Roos Garage Doors recommend that doors be oiled at least once (1) a year, During the guarantee period it is recommended that the door be oiled at least three (3) times - 3 months, 6 months and the upon 1 year. We stock a full range of coloured oils for your Meranti doors.

Roll-up : You can keep your doors clean by using non-abrasive cleaning material. Water and dishwashing liquid is more than adequate. If your doors become scratched, Roos Garage Doors can assist with touch-up paint.

You should inspect your doors at least every three (3) months - this is to ensure that all bolts, nuts, brackets and hinges are still secure.

GENERAL

Where is the oil indicated on my invoice...
Prior to installation, your doors are pre-oiled according to your taste. We add the item on the invoice for reference purposes and to indicate that it is part of the overall cost

 

Why do I need Pine Jams...
There is no specific rule that dictates that you have to use Pine Jams. Roos Garage Doors installation prices include the use of Pine Jams We make use of the jams to ensure a safe and quality installation of our doors

 

Cracked panels...
Roos Garage Doors carries a full stock compliment of wood (meranti) panels for our doors. At cost we can supply these panels for replacement and maintenance. Please take into consideration that colour matching will not be as per the installation - the utmost care will be taken to ensure colours are matched as close as possible.

 

Can I install one motor for two single doors...
Our range of Eazy Lift Sectional and Roll-up motors are purpose designed. We do not cater for dual door installations and recommend one motor per door - this is the safest option

 

Our power is out and my motor does not work...
Firstly, if you do not have battery backup, we recommend that you install this safety feature. If you have battery backup, it might be that the battery is either discharged, disconnected or not functioning - consult with our technical team for assistance.

All Eazy Lift Sectional and Roll-up motors have a manual safety releases. Look for the red rope hanging from the motor extrusion (sectional) and/or the key release unit for the Roll-up units.
